This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Kelli Nicole!

Social Misfits tells the story of C.J. Taylor and her friends. You have Presley, the guy that loves C.J. but is also her best friend, Maxie, her other best friend, Cindy, an awkward and shy girl, and Hamp, an anti-social guy that C.J. can’t get out of her head.

Social Misfits is a book about true friendship and first love. C.J. doesn’t know how to deal with Presley, she doesn’t know how to help Hamp and most of all she doesn’t know what she’s doing wrong. C.J. discovers a lot of herself throughout the book and she grows as a character.

I really liked Social Misfits because it was such a fast-paced, easy read. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. I really liked the story and the characters. You get to know a lot about friendship and I got back to my high school feels. The characters were all so different, yet so relatable. I really liked C.J. because she understands what she did wrong and she does everything to change that. I can also totally relate to Cindy because I’m awkward and shy myself!

Social Misfits is a really good book but there’s one negative point: it was kind of annoying that the author mixed the multiple perspectives in the book without really showing who is thinking what. Most of the time, when an author uses multiple perspectives, they use a perspective per chapter or they clearly put the name above the paragraph. Kelli Nicole didn’t use the naming system so it was often a little hard to figure out who was thinking/talking. That’s the only negative thing I have to say about Social Misfits.

Overall I really enjoyed Social Misfits and I cannot wait to read more written by Kelli Nicole!
