Review

Everything, Everything tells the story of Madeline (Maddy) and Oliver (Olly). Madeline has been sick for as long as she can remember. When she was little she got really sick so now she never leaves the house and a nurse visits her every day. She's been fine with that until there are new neighbours: Olly and his family. One night they exchange numbers and after that night, they text every night. They get to know each other more and more and eventually they fall for each other. But will they be able to meet each other in person?

Everything, Everything is so beautiful yet so unpredictable. I never expected the book to end the way it did (in a good way). I love the ending and I would be happy to read a bit more about Maddy and Olly. Maddy is such a nice character, she loves reading and loves stalking Olly. So me! And Olly is so cute and adorable. I can't get enough of him.

Everything, Everything is an amazing read and I cannot wait to read another book by Nicola Yoon!

I really like the new covers. They look simple because of the black background but the bit of colour gives it something extra. I like that the first letters are bigger and also have that bit of colour.

But what are the books about?

Being a sixteen-year-old Monster Hunter sucks.

That’s what Heather Hawkins learns just days before her sixteenth birthday. After dealing with her best friend, Kristen’s, attempted suicide, the last thing Heather wants is any more drama. When the realistic dreams of Heather being haunted by a guy named Kadin begin, she learns the truth. She is a Monster Hunter, and on her birthday, she will undergo a change that will make her stronger, more powerful, and nearly invincible to Monsters. Along with having a hot new trainer named Philip, she believes that this will be a new beginning for herself.

Unfortunately, Monsters aren’t the only thing Heather needs to worry about. With someone stalking her dreams, she realises there may be more than just Monsters in the world, and that Kadin will do anything to stop her from helping the Monster Hunters. Even if that means unleashing an entity that was locked away by his people thousands of years ago.

In this all-new paranormal young adult series, romances will be formed, evil becomes unleashed, and everyone Heather loves will soon be at risk. Because in a world where Monsters walk the earth, anything is possible.

Make sure you check out these amazing books and keep an eye out for the third book, Fiery Passion!

Holding Up the Universe | Review

Title: Holding Up the Universe
Author: Jennifer Niven
Pages: 388 pages
Version: Paperback
Publisher: Penguin
Rating: ★★★★★

Review

I'm not a shitty person, but I'm about to do a shitty thing. And you will hate me, and some other people will hate me, but I'm going to do it anyway to protect you and also myself...

Holding Up the Universe tells the story of Libby Strout and Jack Masselin. Libby Strout was used to be America's Fattest Teen and that's been haunting her for a really long time. Now she's going back to school and she's afraid to be bullied again. Jack Masselin is not our typical badass guy, he has prosopagnosia, face blindness. He can't recognise a face and because of that, he does some stupid things. Their friendship hasn't  had a great start, but the more they get to know each other, the more they grow towards each other.

Sometimes people are just shitty. Sometimes they're shitty because they're afraid. Sometimes they choose to be shitty to others before others can be shitty to them. Like self-defense shittiness.

Holding Up the Universe is such a realistic read. I can relate to Libby in so many ways and I think she's such a strong main character. She's been through a lot but she's still going to school every morning. She's tough and I like that about her.

A normal life is what I've wanted for as long as I can remember.

Jennifer Niven is such a great author and I love her for writing this book. It's a topic that a lot of teens struggle with and she gave Holding Up the Universe something extra by giving Jack prosopagnosia. Jennifer Niven is amazing and I cannot wait to read another book written by her!

You are wanted. You are necessary. You are loved.

Since she’s flirtationally challenged, she enlists Cooper Callihan, the guy who turned popular seemingly overnight but who used to be a good friend.

Cooper lives and breathes rowing, but his partner just broke his wrist. When he remembers Kate’s good with a set of oars, he strikes a deal: help him train, and he’ll make sure her crush notices her. Only he didn’t know how addicting spending time with her would be. Or how the more successful the Operation is, the more jealousy he experiences.

The mission has been set. The troops have their marching orders. But what if the target is the wrong guy all along?

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains stargazing, accidental swimming, and poker swindling. This kissing practice will melt your ereader…and give you a new couple to ship.

Operation Prom Date tells the story of Kate and Cooper. Kate is in love with a popular quarterback, named Mick, and wants to go with him to prom. And because Cooper doesn't have a rowing partner, he helps Kate with Mick, so she helps him with rowing.
The more they get to know each other, the more they begin to like each other. Kate doesn't really know what she feels for Cooper but she doesn't want to risk it, when she's so close to going to prom with Mick. But how does Cooper feel about this?

Operation Prom Date is so cute and adorable. I really loved reading the book. I love that it's so geeky and with otp's. I really liked how Kate and Cooper became such good friends and how they act around each other. They're so cute!!! The writing was enjoyable to read and the book was really fast paced. The only reason that it took me a while to read was because of homework. I will definitely read another book by Cindi Madsen!

Cindi Madsen is a USA Today Bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music, dancing, and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children.

Shadowhunters SE2A | Review

Title: Shadowhunters
Created by: Ed Decter
Based on: The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
Seasons (watched): 1.5 season
Rating: ★★★★

Review

Overall Shadowhunters was again really good, but when I go deeper into details it wasn't always that good. I'm going to sum up some good and some bad things from the first part of season 2. (Please be aware that the following points are spoilers!!!)

+
-Alec & Magnus' relationship
-Valentine finally says that Clary & Jace are not siblings and that he's not his father.
-Certain things are similar to the book, such as: the soul sword, the angel, Simon feeding on Jace and being able to go into the sun,...
-Max' first rune/the ceremony

-
-Clary being in a relationship with Simon
-The special effects when the angel flies away and that the angel looked really old and ugly
-Jocelyn's death
-Clary going to a warlock to bring her mum back, sealing a blood oath and having to mate with a demon

This is not everything, but I don't want to make this list too long. I think there were a lot of strong scenes and some character development in the series but there were also things that could've been better.

Perfect Imperfections | Review

Title: Perfect Imperfections
Series: Moments Series #1
Author: J & L Wells
Pages: 359 pages
Version: Paperback (ARC)
Rating: ★★★★★

Review

Perfect Imperfections tells the story of Tash (full: Natasha) and her love life. She's been together with her youth love, Josh, for 10 years and it ended all of a sudden. Josh found another woman, Michelle. Tasha is devastated and finds solace with Gabriel, an artist who painted her. They become closer, but will they be able to piece together one another's perfect imperfections?

Perfect Imperfections is such a good book! Wow! It's definitely my favourite book written by J. & L. Wells. In the beginning it was a bit slow, but when I read more, I couldn't stop. It's so fast paced and interesting. The story is very unique and I just love it! Tasha is such a nice main character and Gabriel is hot and funny. And there was this plot twist that I didn't see coming and I was crying for like an hour. Perfect Imperfections is so good and I highly recommend it!

Secrets of a Reluctant Princess tells the story of Adrianna (Andy) Bottom. She moved to Beverly Hills because her dad's toilet products have been a hit in the market and now they're rich. And because of that, there'll be a TV show about them, called Bathroom Barons. Adrianna doesn't feel like a celebrity and hates the way her stylists dress her. She's an real geek. But because she'll be on TV, she has to change her look and her behaviour. She wants to be a cool kid but she falls in love with a geek, called Kevin. Will she give up her status of cool kid or will she admit her feelings for Kevin?

Secrets of a Reluctant Princess is such an enjoyable read. I finished it in one day because it's so fast paced and easy to read. The story is really funny and sometimes dramatic, but that makes the book so good. I love the geeky things in Secrets of a Reluctant Princess because I'm a geek myself. Top 5 Disney movies | Top 5...

We all know that Disney movie that we love so so much. Well, I made a list of my top 5 favourite Disney movies. I'd like to remind you that these are not in order!

1. Frozen
Frozen is a Disney movie about Elsa and her sister Anna. They both live in Arendelle and Elsa has this special ability, she can control ice/snow. When their parents die, Elsa must take leadership when she becomes an adult. But it's so hard for her and at some point she'll break.
Click here to watch the trailer of the movie.

2. Brave
Brave is such an amazing Disney movie. I've always been in love with Scottish accents and when I watched Brave in English, I immediately fell in love. The story is great too and I'm so happy Disney made a movie like this.
Click here to watch the trailer of the movie.

3. Finding Nemo & Finding Dory
Finding Nemo was a movie I loved when I was a kid. When I found out there was going to be a movie about Dory, I was so excited! Finding Nemo and Finding Dory were so good and are one of my all-time favourite Disney movies.
Click here to watch the trailer of Finding Nemo.

4. Tangled
Tangled is a Rapunzel story with a modern twist. Rapunzel is
locked up because her long hair is magical, it makes someone younger. Then one day there's a guy in her room and everything changes. It's such an amazing and funny Disney movie.
Click here to watch the trailer of the movie.

5. The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of the best Disney movies ever, especially when it's Halloween. I love Jack and Sally and the movie is so so so great. (And Blink 128 made a song which says "We can live like Jack and Sally if we want." and I really love that song.)
Click here to watch the trailer of the movie.
